Um, I know Heinkels were tough, but um, a 30mm to that center engine... Actually, thats a REAL bad idea, because then they split up and fly on their own, now you gotta kill TWO!!!:O

Here is another Zwilling type aircraft, this time involving 2 109s.

The P/F-82 (twin Mustang) made it past prototype stage and scored (I think) the first kill of the Korean War.

Hardrock's dad used to fly the P-82.

Woa, that picture looks photoshopped! (the one of the B-17 Liberator, or B-24 Flying Fortress?)

By the way, the Z in the He-111Z stands for Zwilling, literally meaning twin.

But here's one for you, what if one pilot wants to go right, while the other wants to go left?

The B24 is an interesting story. They did a flight test because the B17 had less drag on the nose. They put the b17 nose on the b24 body. It was faster, but also had some flight problems (it would swing side to side at high speed and high altitude, very disconcerting for the pilots).

The problems could have been any number of things, like the fact that it was simply attached to an existing airframe (I think a redesign would be required, personally) but regardless they decided it wasn't worth it.

As I recall, with the Zwilling aircraft, the second cockpit was full of radio and maybe even radar equipment, not another crew.

I know the 109 Zeilling was, but the Heinkel appears to have a full cockpit!
