Thanks for the good times - here's payback!

Oi dweebs!
I used to fly the AH skies way back when as bmbm and popped in occasionally to check things out as brumm and brrrrt (lol). Good times indeed, and I'm happy to see that the sim and its community is still thriving.

Harkening back to my old WB days and using subsequent experience gained here and in other sims, I sat down and scratched out my own Guide to massively multiplayer online air combat sims. This I called "In Pursuit" and offered gratis as a pdf file here since December last year. Following intense lobbying from friends (heh) I have now gone to the trouble of editing the thing, correcting various embarrassing errors and completely redesigning the illustrations, in addition to writing much new text, crowning this work with publishing it at Amazon.com for your enjoyment and possible erudition. The pdf will remain for free and online for the duration, though in the original (unedited) form.

This has been a community broadcast, I now leave you to resume your normal kibitizing :D Bmbm, out.

I just un-subscribed from ww2ol for the 3rd time. Third times a charm. This time I only kept it a month and got in about 5 hours play. That pic you have for the cover of In Pursuit is deceiving. There is no blue sky in ww2ol :)

I didnt get to the rest of it, but will later. Good idea.

To get the experience of ww2ol, play AH with really dark sunglasses on.

You decided to drop the Nati-nati? :)

If you have a chance, stop by MacAW list and make an announcement about your publication. It's not as lively as our old home on CIS, but some of the Shadow Riders hang there: QD, Fogy, Bull to name a few.

Keep the pointy end going forward!

Bought a copy. Glad to see something like this (and support its author), plus I can strategically leave it lying around at work to get a few of my aviation-enthusitast co-workers interested. :t
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

EXCELLENT resource, I rccomend it for anyone who flies. Points out a lot of the minor mistakes we all make, plus its written from the POV of someone with the same approach to flying and fighting that I try to follow, so its been a big eye opener for me.

Also I noticed a lot of stuff that I used to do and have moved away from, and have taken a big hit in my survivability and Kill : Death ratio as a result of. A lot of the rules I followed religiously in the AvA I've moved away from, and have lost a lot of proficiency as a result. As I've been reading through, I frequently remember using the tactic he describes properly- and just often I can recall a recent situation where I should have used them and instead got suckered into a furball or a turnfight simply because I forgot all the things I should know.

Kinda irritating to have your errors pointed out at you, but also helps to be reminded of what works and what doesn't.

Plus its kinda cool to see names of guys I remember from WB in print in there, always brings a smile to my face. I also wonder if I was one of the ones shot down in honing those skills.... :)
