Color is a very subjective thinggy :)
Someone's medium blue is other one's medium-light blue.

The blue color in the design is actually 100%cyan, which is pretty much on the halfway of white and black, slightly on the darker side. However, it does not have any magenta in it (like a common "dark blue" might have).

The red in the design was supposed to be 100%magenta 100%yellow, but I admit it came out from CorelDraw slightly on the orange side. I will also partly blame my lcd screen for that. In PhotoShop C 0%, M 100%, Y100% actually looks quite different.
In any case.. it IS a RAF roundel, and as such, should have red... not orange ;)

Color definitions in real work are often extremely difficult because of various ways to define them.. and also depending on whether they are printed (subtractive, e.g. CMYK) or made with light like on monitors (additive, e.g. RGB)

I hope you can work it out without too much trouble.

I'll be back in town on Thursday and will coordinate with the production company on new colors.  I'll go for medium blue and red.  (I did wonder why the light blue and orange -- but I figured it was an artistic modification, something a little different than the most-common roundel colors.  As it looked nice, I didn't ask. :)

Here it is with redone colors.  Folks, let me know if you have any objections to the colors in the next few days, and then (if there aren't a lot of objections) I'll pull the trigger on production.

OMG SWEET!!

Colors are PERFECT! Looks like an RAF roundel, only with the center red dot being shaped like England!

EDIT: Only concern is the white seems off-center. It looks closer to the lower left side than it is to the upper right side, if you know what I mean?

P.S. This could be something that varies slightly from patch to patch. I admit it's a minor point.

The whole thing is offset, but looking at the graphics I can see why.  If it's centered, the wing markings at the right will bleed into the border.

If it's centered then that get's clipped, along with the tail section.  I'm not sure that's a bad thing overall, but I'll defer the decision to someone else, as I like it just fine.

Nothing clever here.  Please, move along.

Brooke,
I trust you with the colors, but the design should go back to the original centered layout.
Now it looks a bit like a billiard ball with its extra width in N/NE/E directions.
Is it just a mistake in cutting? ...before the black edge has been sown.

I think it's just a mistake in cutting on this one sewout.  It shouldn't be a patch-design issue, as I didn't change the design at all (only colors).

I think you're right. In the NE edge you can see a line, like the merrow was restitched or something. Probably just a mistake on the 1-off.

Even if not, it's a minor issue, and I only brought it up because I'm a freaking nut. A detail oriented nut, but a nut, nonetheless.

Cc Brooke.
It is still interesting how they have drawn more (all the way to the tip) to the right elevator of the right plane :)

I suspect, that they are actually redrawing the pixel picture as a vector picture.... which would be pretty funny, since the original design was drawn as vectors (CorelDraw) and then a screenshot was taken
I assume that they could actually use the vector file and save quite a bit of time and work in their own process.
Would you mind checking this just in case for the future?

Odee, the Battle of Britain patches aren't in yet, although I expect them early this week.

Once I have them, I'll make an announcement here that they are available.

To get one, you then send e-mail to Roscoroo "at" hotmail.com.

Here are patches that are available and information about how we fund the patch production.

By the way, I like the idea of sewing them on your flight jacket.  I am doing the same! :)

EDIT: The crosses are out of position on the He111's wings, however. :aok
I dunno Krusty... I kind of like the middle and right ones..  Mid for the bomber horde.  Right one for the iron cross semblance.

But more the middle one evoking a sense of dread at the waves of bombers Britain had to endure and over come.
