WTG!

Impeccable reasoning ("because hosers need a plane too") Infallible logic ("Hey, we got plenty of wood up here...") and adrmirable tact (" ..it's not like we didn't DO anything in WWII..") have gained what no Luftwobble could ever obtain by 'feel'..

 :)

<S!> you hosers.. yer gonna have a heluva plane to fly.

You guys ARE gonna fly it, enh??

I'll be taking my favie up a lot more than I will my runstang errr... Mustang.

As a canuck, I was also hoping for the Halifax MkIII bomber (twin pilot Lancaster-mod with big 1800hp engines).

Halifax was also known as a troop/paratroop transport, gilder-tug, and night bomber.

All it would need is a Lancaster body, a B-26 nose, and 4 slightly modified Hurricane engines.     :)

Type:
 Seven-crew night heavy bomber.

Powerplant:
Four 1,800-hp (1343-kW) Bristol Hercules 100 radial pistons

Performance:
Max speed 312 mph (502 km/h) at 22,000 ft (6705 m)
Climb to 20,000 ft (6095 m) in 5.0 minutes
Ceiling 24,000 ft (7315 m)
Range with 13,000 lb (5897 kg) bomb load: 1,260 miles (2028 km)

Weights:
Empty 39,000 lb (17690 kg)
Max take-off 68,000 lb (30845 kg)

Dimensions:
 Span 104 ft 2 in (31.75 m)
Length 71 ft 7 in (21.82 m)
Height 20 ft 9 in (6.32 m)
Wing area 1,275.0 sq ft (118.45 m)

Armament:
0.303 in (7.7mm) gun in nose
Four 0.303 in (7.7mm) guns in dorsal and tail turrets
Max bomb load: 13,000 lb (5897 kg)

I am eagerly awaiting the release of AH v1.08.  :D

Mossie!!!!

Vruth,

The Handley Page Halifax wasn't a Lancaster mod.  The "Halibag" was Handley Page's planned twin-Vulture powered bomber to Specification P.13/36.  Handley Page swtiched to 4 Merlins during the design phase. The Halifax MkIII introduced the Hercules engines at 1,650hp.  The definative Halifax MkVI was powered by 4 1,800hp Hercules engines.

The Avro Lancaster began as Avro's entry for Specification P.13/36, but Avro went all the way to producing the miserable twin-Vulture powered Manchester.  After producing 209 of the unpopular bombers they extended the wings and replaced the 2 Vultures with 4 Merlins to create the Lancaster that we all know and love.

The Halifax would require a completely new model from HTC.  There aren't any parts that could be used from other aircraft.

Like I would like to see the B-24 added at some point, so I would like to see the Halifax added at some point.  However, like the B-24 is very similar in use to the B-17, the Halifax is very similar in use to the Lancaster.

I think there are quite a few aircraft that should be above the Halifax on HTC's "to do" list.

The Halifax is a neat aircraft though.

Thanks Hang!  :D

It was fantastic news for all us of the CCBAH. Not only did we get the Mossy itself, but Nate painted her up in the exact scheme we requested. Being Robert Kipp's plane will make the Kamloopians very proud indeed. You *rule* Nate! Basically it is everything the CCBAH could have hoped for. HTC has made the hosers very happy, the long struggle is over, it is now time to drink - and drink heavily.

And yeah, that bird is going to be seeing *a lot* of action!
