Id like to be able to Spawn PT boats right off shore of a airfeld, port or V base....Not 15 miles out to the spawn point...

While you're at it, how about a well defined "PT landing area" at the ports as well . . .

I heard it can be done, but I think the guy also said he saw Bigfoot . . .

If you want those kinds of spawn points, make your own terrains. And landing areas, I have no clue how to operate that, my idea is to place an airfield by the water, so the runway is right next to the tile transition, that allows the PT to jump on the runway and land. Worked for me before.

There are small docks on the port where you spawn and land PTs.

Official clipboard map from my installation folder:

Ports allow PT's to spawn directly off shore, but V  or A bases send you out 15 miles......

Can I have air starts 200 feet above spawn points at enemy runways?

Thanks.

That is completely different....Why is it that vehicles can spawn on their own field, and spawn to spawn points, but at V and A bases, PT's are forced to spawn 15 miles off shore....what gives?  Wanting to be able to spawn directly off shore is not asking 2 much

The map maker decides that, cav. There are things called "entries." There's a Fighter, Bomber, Vehicle, and Boat type. By placing a standard "Port" object that has everything preassembled, a boat entry is placed at those little docks. Since other fields aren't expected to be on the shore, they don't automatically have a boat entry. By placing a boat entry right off shore manually, a spawn is created. By placing a boat or vehicle entry out in the middle of nowhere, you create a spawn there. You can even have the air starts over enemy fields if you place a Fighter Entry from your base over the enemy field at the desired alt. That's how the airstarts in the TA and on the Japan1 map work. There are also Fighter/Bomber entries in the spawn hanger and on each of the runways. There's a Vehicle entry inside the vehicle hanger on vehicle bases, ports, medium and large fields. It's slightly in front of the VH on small fields.

then you will whine about not being able to get to enemy cv's because they are too far out to sea.

I thought you couldn't land PT's on Carriers at all....

i just had a very sexy idea, what if they add booey's to signify where its sahe to land at.

like four booeys to show where it safe to land within.

that would make since .. distance from bouys would make landing PTs easier .. problem still lies in the middle of the ocean off a CV .. still could be 30k away from a bouy
