So what's up with the gas prices?

Miraculously, they go down right before elections...

I know a lot of people very nervous, wondering exactly what we had to sacrifice in the future to pay for this sunny picture the government is trying to portray now.

Isn't it funny how elections usually happen really near to the end of the summer?  The time of the year where road travel is up, therefor demand is also up?

Must be a coincidence, right?

I am waiting for one of the tards who think Bush can actually control gas prices to explain how he does it in other countries.  :D

For the last 10+ years, gas prices have been going UP in spring, DOWN in fall-- demand goes up in spring, and refining capacity (they normally run at 90+%) is diminished by all the 'botique' blends that librules demanded for dirty-air places like Kalifornia. (Clean air is nice and all, but it has a price) That, in addition to the fact that we havent built a refinery in the US since 1971, due to the endless objections of librule environmenalists. Or.... ya could just blame it on Bushs' oil buddies:aok  (Why are librules always mystified by the law of supply and demand?)

Skernsk,

That is interesting.  Maybe I am more untrusting than I should be.  Still suspectious... but willing to be wrong.

Prices will be back up soon.

I guess if you are a Marxist, economics is like a foreign language to you anyway, as are the market factors that cause the rise and fall of the price of anything, not just gasoline.

The price has to come down. You see, there is no competition to power your car, however, there is to heat your home.
