Guess the state engine is the P&W R-2800 series being built out of Hartfort.

For Ohio I nominate the F-86 Sabrejet.

CMH had a North American factory where Million Air is on the airport.

They built F-86's there.  Prior to that it belonged to Curtiss-Wright and have no idea what they built.

Way too many great aircraft designed in California to pick just one.  I'll go with the A-12.

Aside from Connecticut, are there any other states with an official "State Plane"?

Hmmm seems Virginia doesn't have one yet but I'd go with the F-22 Raptor since the 1st Fighter Wing is here and they have that bad boy in service now.

Good point... however, based on the ticketing policies of the Virginia State Police, I'd be more inclined to go with the formidable f-56 'flying Jack Boot', or the lesser known, yet equally formidable f-121 'red bull and crispy-cream special'
