Bomber Drones

Been having a problem with JU88's and 234's when landing.  Seems if you try to touch down midrunway the drones explode.  While losing 64 perk points is no big deal it is still disappointing.  This does not hapen every time but enough to make this post.  Speed and alt is not an issue, just the position on the runway.  Have tired to duplicate this with lancs,17,s and 24,s but have not been able to get them to blow.  Because of this I think there may be a bug.  BE nterested to see if anyone else has noticed this.             BLT280

I dont take Ar234 formations...Ive seen too many folks loose em on takeoff and wasnt sure if that had been fixed or not....(not worth loosing that many perks!)

I havent had the issues on landing.

The only issue Ive had with drones is taking off and getting them to join up.  Sometimes a hillside will be close and no matter what I do, sometimes they never join up.  I dont know if they are on a timer, certain speed, climb rate, flap setting, etc

I think you need to be above 500 feet (might be 200) and wheels up for them to form on you. Sometimes throttling back a bit helps too.

:O  the only prerequisite for drones joining the formation is you must be at level flight 200 ft from end of runway

I think it's closer to 250 feet agl. I don't think it matters how close or far you are from the end of the runways.
I noticed a weird thing when confirming the 250feet.
If I did not raise my gear and got above 250 feet the drones did form up but not in the usual manner, they stayed in a line formation directly behind the lead bomber.
[ Used B-24s on my test. One landing the #3 drone went up and exploded. ]
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.
