Not getting some of the features
« on: October 17, 2006, 12:15:11 PM »
I downloaded the Trial version and really like what I've seen so far. The game is great but some of the features mentioned in the tutorals and help sections are not available or I'm just too dense to get it right.

1. I don't have a convergence feature for weapon tweaking when in the Hanger
2. When I map my controller it will not retain the settings. For example I can go into the Options and map it for flaps, rudder, weps, etc... when I return to the game it's consistently set to default settings (although I am getting pretty good at remembering the keys it would be nice to use all 24 buttons on my joystick).

Any help would be apprciated.

Hello 1checker, welcome to Aces High!

First of all, what you downloaded is no trial version, its the full game. You have a two week free trial period for online play, after that youre charged 14.95 USD for access to the online arenas. Offline mode and 8 Player (H2H) cam be used after that and are free.

To your questions in reversed order:

2. Make sure youre mapping the correct controller (upper dropdown box) and the correct Mode (lower dropdown box). Mode 1 for use in planes, mode 2 for use in vehicles (GVs), mode 3 and 4 for custom use. If you check the box saying "autoselect mode at start of flight" youll automatically assigned mode1 or 2 accordingly upon spawning. Mode 3/4 will have to be selected manually, youll need to map a key/button if you use them.

Make sure you click OK after mapping.

If settings still dont keep: Check your game installment folder. It might be on read only for some reason (windows can be funny in that regard at times).

1. The SET CONVERGENCE button is in the HANGAR (on your clipboard) on the upper right side of the plane list. Click on it and youll get to the convergence view. Then minimize the clipboard (ESC key) and set your convergence by moving the crosses to the wanted distance. If you do not see any colored lines in the convergence view - this is usually an indication for a vid card issue... update your drivers (or for the NVidia series.... check the tech support forum... they dont work well with the latest drivers, you might have to revert back to an older version).

If you want help with your setup or to get you started on all aspects of the game, feel free to visit the Training Arena (online, this will trigger your 2 week trial!). Or contact the Trainer Corps per email at trainers@hitechcreations.com - please include your ingame name and times youre available (time zone!) in your training request.

Thanks Schatzi,  I found the convergence button; for some reason I was right clicking the clipboard (dont' know were I got that idea) and it wasn't responding but thru your guidance I have found it and am setting wep convergence's easily now.
I also thru your divine guidance am happily clicking the OK button (after the modify) and the controller settings are staying quite well.
