Why Runway Bash?
« on: October 17, 2006, 08:29:55 PM »
Sorry for posting a whining post but why oh why do people keep avoiding a fight just to vulch how sad and pathetic are them guys :furious

this tactic seems to be used in the late war more often than the others and it sucks look at me im in a fast plane i can fly really high ignore that furball near that enemy field and i can go and vulch arent i great?

this tactic is imho a very sad way of spending your time on aces high why avoid the furball? and vulch?

i dnt mind getting vulched aslong as it is already capped by the enemy but to fly through a group of enemys to vulch a field is pathetic what sort of a person does this?

this isnt another play the game my way post because i believe everybody will play the game different to the nxt person im just getting a little miffed with the runway bashers lately.

thought id vent my anger :aok

Probably because stopping the aircraft lifting is the easiest and fastest way to gain accendancy in a furball.

Honestly, I don't do what you've described exactly, but I will climb over the furball and drop in and engage those fighters on climb out toward it. It seems to me that this is the best way to advance the fight further from my base and closer to the enemies in the least amount of time.

If all air targets have at least one friendly in pursuit, and if the purpose of the fight is to eventually get the field capped (say in a base capture), then yes, by all means, keep any reinforcements from getting in the air.  It would make no sense to be the third person engaging a con already in the air in that instance.

Don't know if that describes your particular situation, but it is one of several cases in which vulching your sorry rear is the smart thing to do.:D

Isnt it funny how one sided this old argument is.

If a player blasts me as Im trying to up from a CAP'd field, he's AWESOME.

If I maul a player as he's upping....and he keeps doing it (while 20+ of us take turns spanking the idiot)...we're a bunch of vulching dweebs.

Here's an idea....stop upping!

Its called Air Superiority and suppression of enemy defences.

Its also called whinning.

:p

Flying past the already airborne defenders in the hopes of getting one vulch before those already up smoke you... that's not exactly Air Superiority. That's just being desperate.

I like to vulch you on the deck
yer low and slow and soon to wreck

Another field is yours to use
instead my choices you abuse

I like to run from Zekes and Spits
you can't catch me and don't get hits

A faster plane you too could fly
but if you catch me you would die

You turn and burn but I don't whine
You pay yer fee and I pay mine.

Hub said it right.  The rest of you are making excuses for pure lameness.  Probably what you do yourselves in the same situation, trying to justify it.

Because it makes one less plane in the air?

If there are 5 enemy fighters over a base and another trying to up and the vulch is there, why let another fighter up? All he is gonna do is ho you because if he goes down he just re-ups meanwhile you have to fly all the way back. I kill any plane I get the chance to. Regardless of if they are landing, taking off, or if there is a con on my 6. If I am gonna die, I am taking as many red icons with me as possible.

Only time I won't kill a plane is if it's been a good 1 on 1 and he is engine out or whatever. By good I mean no hoing and straight ACM.

He was just quoting your post.  You said "how sad and pathetic are THEM guys."

By the way... the correct grammer would have been "how sad and pathetic are THOSE guys."
