It would be nice to list all the locations where members of AH live, with the id's of all the members in that area listed. Posible uses could be inviting members to squads or meeting members in your area for a real, instead of virtual, beer.  Also it would simply be fun to browse the list.

I love this Idea. I once was in a CFS1 squad (Eagles) and we did something like that, with a real world map of ever memeber, and friends location.

I'll start

VooHoo, thank for the support. I'm in Hawaii. I guess what I'd like to see is for HTC to set up a data base for us using their existing information that we can click on certain areas and see who's there. Your map idea would be very cool.

And on the map you could click the dot and it would say who it was, and some of them had pictures of themselves.

Aces High Frappr

This map was started a while ago. I think it's exactly what you're looking for.

Maybe we need to make it a sticky so that it doesn't get lost in the bowels of the forum.

I think this is a better map.. It's a world map and automatically marks your location by IP address.  As soon as a person clicks on it their IP address is recorded and their general location is marked on the map.  Very simple and quite painless.

I noticed that nobody from Admin has posted here yet.  The key is for them to get onboard because they already have the database with our game names and location.  It shouldn't be too hard to create a page using that information sorted into areas, states, counties, etc., including email addresses.  To try to get people to post their own information, or have a 3rd party (not HTC sponsored) would probably fail.  If privacy is a concern, a "sign-up" database could be put on the web page for those who would like to be included.

The other one is a world map as well (just click and drag or zoom out). It also has more info associated with it (game ID, picture, etc.). Maybe I'm just missing those features on the site you posted. Also, it appears to only be functional with MySpace, which I don't use, and I doubt many people on here use.

The thing that I think makes the Frappr site better, though, is the fact that it already has 200+ of us signed up on it. Really it's not even that hard to sign up. Name, e-mail and location, then click "Add Me". They don't even spam your e-mail. I've been signed up there for more than a year I think, and I only get an e-mail from them once a month that lists new people on the map (a service to which you can unsubscribe).
