Yeah, arenas are still broken. I had bunches and bunches of good fights for a long time, but when it got later last night, I couldn't find a fight unless I wanted to fly 50 or more miles to find 1 or 2 guys. Flying that far is one thing, but when I get there they are gone and I flew that far for nothing.

It seems to me that it is not how many people in the arena its self that is good or bad, it doesn't really matter. Trick is getting the right amount of people flying the right part of the map at the same time, so things are ballanced.

I don't know much about this game, but would somebody please tell me if any of these ideas would work. Somebody please comment, ty.

1) Have caps on the number of people that can take off from a particular base? Wouldn't this help solve the population problem?

2) If there are only a few people in an arena, have automatic shut down for some of the basses to concentrate things at other bases. Open more bases as more players enter the arena.

3) As it is now, the teams can't really get to each other all the time. For instance, the bish and the rooks may have a great fight going way far down south on the map, but no knight can get there unless they fly 200 miles. Why not have the map broken into maybe 4 quadrants with bases from all three teams in each quadrant. This would solve that problem.

This has been brought up before and it didn't fly ... most said that it would be too limiting.

My suggestion and what I do all the time ... I switch to a country that is involved in a fight. I have no allegiance to any country and if you do, then this will pose a problem.

You said you are new ... well there is a "Map Maker" program available ... you might want to take a stab at creating that kind of map and submitting it to HTC. They do take and encourage player made maps. Most maps that you fly on were made by players.

I was on from about 7PM CST until 1AMCST.  Lazer, Soulyss and I started out in Latewar2 and found nothing but fights the entire time.  About 11PMCST Shuffler and Treize showed up and couldn't get into Late2 so we all went to Midwar.  We brawled until 1AMCST in there non-stop.

We did switch to the low numbers side, which might have helped too.

Maybe that's not late enough to see the impact but I flew longer and fought more consistantly and constantly last night then I had in a long time.  It was a blast :)

it was
EW:38(or so)
MW had 80+
and the 2 LA: had over 200 each

sorry i didnt have the foresight to take screen shots

1) Yep, old fashioned "zone limits". The mission maker would need some retooling. But, the "O" weenies should love it...more "organization" for them to do. :)

2) My guess would be that something along this line is coming...in 2 weeks. :)

3) I KNOW there will be changes to deal with this issue. One will be terrains with better balance in field layout.

@ 10pm Central, Early War showed 68 on, Mid War about 105, Late 1 was at 200, Late 2 was around 200. Didn't take screenshots either, was too busy with my DSL randomly disco'ing. :(

So best thing to do is at a certain point, based on numbers, send them all to one arena?  I suppose that makes some sense.  So force em all into Midwar :)
