Hi all!
I would like to say one thing about this Aleutian terrain: it definitely left me in total awe! Congratulations, Map Team, you're doing a fantastic work here.
I also would like to express my recognition to the efforts many of you have put into these last TOD with the fine planesets and rolling planesets. All of you have contributed to raise AvA to another level.
Why have I entitled this post as the tale of the wonderful wasteland? I'll tell you now.
All this effort, all these beautiful scenarios, all these well-designed planesets, are beeing wasted. Yes, wasted.
You all know us from 249 Sqn. We are so few that you probably know us all. We fly so little time and in such predictable time schedules, that you could set your watch by us. Or turn the dishwasher on our arrival...We are old geeks with old habits...
And for a few weeks by now, we are having more and more difficulty in finding combat when we log in. Yes, it's true. We go out and take vehicle bases, ports, for hours just because we are really alone in the arena. We get bored...
Last Sunday, we even start flying Japanese planes to find a fight...Last Wednesday, we just showed up, looked in and went to EWMA...Not much better, we had to go to MWMA to find something like combat.
What's happening to us? What's happening to AvA? Why does AvA have less people in than Training Arena? It even has less people than many small servers in IL2.
We, in 249 Sqn, are about to leave AvA for EWMA in the next ToD or so. And we are so sad for doing that...
Just wanted you all to know how the four of us feel about this. I feel our time is about to come to an end here. Maybe the time to look for greener pastures has come. Nothing decided yet.
But thank you all - Storch and JG54 included ;-) - for beeing here and making AvA possible.
