I figure I've made enough progress on my costume to reach the honest attention-whore state where I can post a link to my page:

I mentioned off hand in another thread a month ago what I was hoping to do, and I've actually gotten pretty far. It's the big yellow hydraulic Powerloader that Ripley uses to fight the queen in Aliens. I'll be up on stilts, so it should be interesting if I can pull it off.

One thing, I'm looking for a battery powered amber/yellow revolving light to put on the head. Going rate seems to be about $25 for something that plugs into 12v, anyone have any cheaper ideas? I saw a neat LED 'revolving' lamp for about $5-6 (it flashed the LEDs sequentially to create the appearance of rotating) but it was red.

I always work better under pressure. Halloween is a deadline I can wrap my head around. I'll work on plane more once it's past, either that, or come up with other fantastic excuses.

I get up at 5:30 each morning, and I work on this in the evening when I get back from work. "Free time" is something you work to create, the name non-withstanding.

Duh! Bolt of lightning flashing down from the sky. Normaly associated with the wrath of GOD. So why would a church need a lightning rod. Should be no bolts of wrath headed there.

If you pull that off, you'll either be the best costumer, or, if nobody figures it out, a guy who worked hard for very little recognition.

Cool idea though.

Is it my imagination, or does it seem like, ever since Sci-Fi channel came along, nobody makes good theatre-quality outer space movies? Even the last three Star Wars movies were kinda "eh".
