I like the new setup

I think adding all the planes back to the Late War arena's was a step in the wrong direction.

I think both the Early & Mid war arena's need to have some creative perk planes added, one's that won't be overbalanceing. We need a BUNCH of new planes to fill out the planesets for both arena's.

On the positive side, the EWA & MWA community is the best I've seen it in years.
Fights in there tend to be fair, and we need to do more to make sure everyone understands the ground rules.

Maybe we can't stomp out HO's, but we can stop 4 on 1. Anytime you see an enemy con and there is a friendly closer, just back off, hold position, let them fight it out. Then if he's still alive, its your turn.

I went Bish for a bit (60 knights 20 rooks 12 bish) and saw 4 guys pile onto the same F4u. I mean really, if you want that, go back to the LWA.

Overall I see the chance for big things to happen as a direct result of the changes so many whine about. Yes its going to take some time for some of it to show. Yes we need some tweaks & new planes.

But overall this is still the game we love, (or love to hate).

yep ghost... I pretty much agree that there should be no early and few mid war planes in the LW but...  I think everyone realizes that most of those in LW really want and need to have planes there that they can B & z and run away from with no risk to themselves...  if there is no way to have a huge advantage they really don't want to play.

some like the challenge of flying early war planes against lalas and such but I doubt there are many... it would be the guys who fly only late war fast planes that would be upset if the sitting ducks weren't there.

HiTech, am I doing something wrong?  My Squad (all 3 of them) are in LW1, I attempt to join them in LW1 but am repeatedly forced into LW2.  How does this promote Squad play?  Is there nothing I can do to get into the same arena as my squad,  or must everyone log and try to sign in again to get in the same arena?      I understand that this setup give you better balance and server performance, but I thought one of your stated goals was to change the mind set from the "heard Mentality" to " I fly with my squad in this arena"  OK, so how do I fly with my squad in this arena???

All you have to do is go to the arena that's not at cap.

Soooo what do you all like about the new format?

I really like it. Maps are way to big for the EW and MW though which in turn serves to keep the numbers down in those two arenas. But other than that its a good format.

You mean that all the squad members have to do is go to an arena that's not at CAP, right, they all have to log out of the arena they are in and relog in and the system will again place them in an arean that is not near the cap. I say relog because under the new system you don't get to chose which arena you log into, and this must be redone when ever another member of the squad shows up?  If members had invested time and engery into a bombing mission or into a long flight as part of a Squad mission.  One might end up waiting a long time for the entire squad to be able to fly together.

Doesn't seem to promote Squad play much , does it???

reset & CAPs
« Reply #38 on: October 21, 2006, 05:41:39 PM »
what happens in LW1 and LW2 when there is a reset in one of the arena, all the players are forced out when the reset happens, they attempt to log in, what are the CAPs at in the reset arena, if the CAPS were at 250 prior to the reset is it now set to 120 after the reset and the 220 or so players are loged into which arean upon reset??? does anyone know, will squads be split and everyone forced to relog to get back into the same arena?

low numbers
« Reply #39 on: October 21, 2006, 09:53:59 PM »
Yesterday in the AM (EST) LW had like 115 so got sent to LW2 with 10 people. Nothing going on, check EW/MW and the same low numbers so I signed off. like the LW when it has 60 or more playing. People that like low numbers with one on one fights the lownumbers great for for them. I like GV play trying to take bases, I do fly more now but I like a mix that I don't see now, Hope it gets better but don't think it will happen soon. To everyone who does not like the high numbers, take a look at LW when the cap went up. it was 3 to 1 for LW with the high numbers. Alot of us like fast pace action that a large fight gives.

I SEE ONLY ONE WAY THAT A TRUE BALANCE ON ALL SIDES AND AREAS CAN BE HAD AND THAT IS FOR EVERYONE BE ASSIGNED TO A SIDE AND ARENA WHEN THEY LOG ON. Bye Bye Squads, sorry but must be fair to all. Friends, Oh sorry, want to play togather, luck of the draw.

Had my say tonight, have at it and have fun, Ops, did I say fun.;)
