Funny, it works offline? Hmmm, all I can tell you is try Dx 7.0a (note the a) available at
www.microsoft.com/directx . Next try updating video card drivers.
Some people do get lockups running with only 32 MB of memory. Without buying another 32 (or better yet, 64) MB stick of RAM, try removing some of the stuff that runs in the background. If you have MS office you will DEFINATELY want to disable fast find. (Hehe, it may find files a little faster, but it absolutely hogs system resources. They might as well call it "speed bump"
)
If you can't find a way to disable these things in your software, press CNTL-ALT-DELETE
once to see a list of what's running at that time. You can go to run and type "msconfig". Click the startup tab and you will see a list of the things that start up when you turn on your computer. You can also prevent them from starting up by unchecking them. DO NOT uncheck systray or explorer.
The idea of removing the resource hogging stuff in the background is to give you more available memory and system resources. Honestly though, a 4 MB video card with 32 MB of ram is about the bare minimum for AH. You would be much happier with a newer video card and 64 MB of RAM.
Good luck!
