Goodbye...
« on: October 23, 2006, 09:11:15 PM »
Just saying goodbye folks. After the arena changes I found I simply lost interest in the game. I haven't played in months. And this from a guy who has been playing more or less non-stop since Warbirds beta, then AH beta.

I'm not gonna go into it much, suffice it to say I think splitting the arenas was a bad idea. I loved the huge furballs, I wanted to see 1000+ people in one arena. Now it sounds like that vision will never be fulfilled.

Never the less, I wish HTC all the best and I hope to play TOD when it comes out in two weeks ;p

hardware, and network wise, its moving on to larger games, with larger maps, and higher player numbers.... AH moving in oposite direction.

hope we dont loose too many long term vets......

Well said. & g'luck

For me, the new variety of fights possible has greatly improved the game. 1000 boring fights are still boring. :)

S! Goob....

I'm still hanging on but barely. My flying times have dropped drastically. My reasons are mainly the maps issue.  They are just getting too old.  Hope to see ya back soon.

Proabaly not far behind ya goob. And good luck!

Really getting sick of not being able to fly with my friends anymore. Its bad enough trying to rally everyone in my squad to one arena to work together but with our inter- squad alliances hopelessly busted up it has become downright impossible to fly with more then a dozen or so people you know and trust to kill that last friggin FH when ya need em too......

Vets and strat are the past, mini arenas furballers are the future, or so it seems. Thats why some of us have lost interest in the game. Thats why we quit (ok, ok rant off).

Goob, I've closed my account yesterday as well. Hope to be back when the CT , or something even better, will see the light.

Haven't posted my thoughts in any length on the Boards about Arenas.

Soooooo....without further adieu!

Don't see anything wrong with the Arena format.  I like the choices.

When I play I usually prefer to fly the D11 against the late war rides....basically for the challenge. I just love to battle against spits, N1Ks and the La7s....not to mention the P51D.  I guess when I win I feel I've flown to the best of my and the D11s capability.  I've out flown someone in a superior aircraft.  So most times I'll be in LW1 for the fight.

I've flown in midwar and early also.  Sometimes hard to find a fight with the low numbers.  Was in Mid War a few days ago and the reset horde bunch was doing the same thing in midwar that it did in the old MA.  With a whopping 53 people online and 30 rooks guess it was reset and win a toaster time for the rook population.

My Squaddies (The Flying Circus) prefer LW1 so that's where I will be found.

So......imho nothing much has changed.  It just happens in different Arenas now.  Squaddies get a little miffed because they can't get into LW1 when the majority of us are on.  But as I said in a previous post Air Warrior went through the same growing pains.  So patience is warranted.  Eventually things sort themselves out.  Squads will pick an arena...and the population will grow.  Did before....and will continue to do so.

And......bet that most of those who quit will be back sometime.  Can't find a better flight sim then this anywhere that I know of.  And the service we receive is second to none.  And for as long as I've been here this game has advanced in many ways....and has kept improving on a regular basis.  I can't say that about Air Warrior....and for the short time I was involved with warbirds my personal opinion was that...well......there were flight sims that I enjoyed more.

So.....for those who whine......keep whining.....for those who want to quit...quit without fanfare.  For those of us who like the game, service and the community we'll keep on playing. And for those whining, threatening to quit...or quit, what you do or think is of little or no concern to us.  My only advice is to be patient.  Hate to see you go...it's your money.  And likewise we decide what to do with our money.  Fifteen dollars is a small investment to make to have the fun that we have.

goob.. if you haven't played in months then I would say that the old MA had pretty much lost it's luster.

I played a lot less toward the end of the slum the old MA had become.

I find now that the game is more fun again with more choices not less.   I don't know about the massive furballs you were talking about in the old ma unless you meant FT...  which the slum inhabitants would wreck and spray graffitii on anyway...   I never seen any good furballs in the old ma that would last... the griefers allways found and destroyed em.
