Yes... I want the USA to be sucessful

No...  I want the USA to be unsucessful

Hmmm...  If one could contort it in any manner, why not answer it?

USA already won the war in Iraq. It's the occupation and exit we are having trouble with.

What really gets me is those that claim unless you give 110% support to the Bush Administration's handling of the war, you don't support the troops. That's a load of hogwash. Now that it is starting to damage the GOP's chances of re-election, Dubya's doing a double waffle flip-flop on staying in Iraq. Is he against the troops, too?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

I didn't see the interview so I can't offer any type of informed commentary on it.

I don't watch Letterman anymore because I never found him to be particularly funny.  He's something of a one-trick pony....if you've seen him perform once, that's pretty much it.

The question that O'Reilly pitched to him is the type that a real debater or statesman such as Churchill, Roosevelt, Reagan, or even Clinton would have smacked over the fence.  Letterman shouldn't have had that much trouble in answering it.

I just watched the video.

Not only did Letterman not "own" Bill, but he did not answer the question. How tough can it be to answer that question? Surely any American wants America to be successful in Iraq, right?

IMO Letterman is also an #@)( hole

Ill give yas that too.
Letterman in that clip came up with the better sound bite. Which was convieniently where the clip ended.

What was the eventual real answer?

OR didnt he come up with more then a chuckle grabbing sound bite?

You aren't looking at the reaction of other's in the way I am then.

Letterman is a Liberal, always has, always will.   O'Reilly is a media driven figurehead.

letterman needs his bellybutton kicked and o'reilly needs to be second in line, only you would have to break o'rielly's knee first then kick his ass.  there aren't too many problems in the media that couldn't be solved with a good ol' fashioned asswhooping.

The trolling in this thread is so last week.

I dont see it that way.
I see it more as a way to avoid answering the question.
If he were capable of thought. he would have been able to answer the question with more then a sound bite

Kinda like what happens here when people run out of things they can stand on in an arguement.
They start insulting the person they are debating with as though that will somehow validate their arguement

that sound bite is what makes him look like just as much an bellybutton as Orilley

I agree. You would have to break OReillys knee first cause he would acctually fight back.

Letterman would just curl up in a little ball no the floor and cry

from that perspective I can respect Oreilly more.

But that doesnt make him any less of a a--hole LOL
