Very nice Widewing.  Especialy this:
4) The goal must be to prevent the theft, not to cause deliberate injury. If the only way to apprehend the bad guy is to shoot him, let him go. You have enough trouble as it is, shooting a fleeing felon will only add to that exponentially, especially if the thief was unarmed. If he lives, he may get 2 years and probation. He'll be out of prison before you...

I wonder how many of the "ill shoot the SOB" have actually ever had to kill a sentient being?

Being a Vet, its part of my job to kill animals sometimes. Its *always* difficult for me, even when i see the neccessity in it.

I dont want to imagine killing another human being. Im not sure id even be able to do it.

Schatzi, I don't consider thieves human. If you let them go, expect a revisit as your considered an easy touch by most felons. This does not mean just go in blindly shooting, but if they do not stop... shoot. If you have a problem shooting low life scum then shoot into the ground. Amazing the effect on a criminals running ability and that individual will more than likely not return to a known armed home.

Non of them have Schatzi.  The ones that have been in a war and have, would not be writing any of these posts.  These guys are just big mouths that would run and hide if they felt real danger.  If they saw it was just a scared kid runnign away, they might take a shot at him thinking that they would not get in troble with the law.  Anyone that has seen someone die would not be making posts like these.

What I find amaizing is that the only thing that stops them is the fact they could get in troble with the law.  Not because they think it is wrong to kill a kid over a stupid guitar.

     Bugs, I do not know you nor do I care to.  You do not know me.  You obviously have a problem with my game personna and continuously make comments that are false about what I said in this thread and insinuate things about my personal life.  Why you would make a statement like the one above only shows that you know very little about the people you are talking about.  I might also add that I feel you are arguing for the sake of arguing.  Let it go.  Just about everything you are saying here is an assumption.

 What I find amazing is the simple idiocy of assuming that the perp made a childish mistake by breaking into someones home. At what point will this maniacal thought process end?
 
 It seems to me that cowardly conduct can be found in many instances, whether by being a thief, a liar, or so pompous as to post a point such as I have quoted.

I had as much compassion for his wellbeing and empathy for his position as any normal human being should be asked for after how he treated my castle, Sim.  Bugs is just trying to insult me as much as possible.  By the way, the kid can't be questioned while he is in this facility and he will be in for thirty days.  He has yet to call the police from the treatment center to help me get my possesions back.  He is going to fight this thing to the end even after he was caught with one of my guitars in his possesion.  He has no remorse for how much damage he has caused me and my two children.  They definitely do not feel safe in their own home now that they saw the destruction and blood all over my sons bedroom. (he cut hisself on my sons window)  We just found out a few days ago that he also stole both of my duaghters guitars as well.  I don't wish the kid dead at all, though.  I wouldn't mind having a few hours with him in a locked room to "coerce" his confession though!  :aok

Bugs, that is NOT what I meant. This has nothing to do with danger and fear. Youre going for a very low blow there IMHO. But never mind, ill be out of this thread.
