What's going on?

I'm having a BIG problem with shooting down planes. I get the hit sprites sometimes 30-40 of them and nothing. We're talking 50 cals and hispanos ... not crappy .303s .. I've got a cable modem.. What's going on?
vsync is on ect. ect.
