The Spit Vc (universal wing) was belt fed 4 x 20mm with 120 rounds per gun. The 303 ports were still there, but unused.

We will never see it in AH, I can't imagine HTC adding it.

I can imagine them adding it, and that leads me to have nightmares and cold sweats, accompanied by tremors and much bed wetting.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

why not?  the hurriIIc flies around nimbly when in fact it turned like a freightliner and was relegated to ground attack only where it excelled.  give the little cripples their woobiespit that way their suckage will be complete.

beautiful plane, thanks for posting that photo.

Picture a large Scenario where a force of Hurricane IIs had to contend with Bf 109F-4s. They would be BZed to death. But?, yes, of course there is a but, which is this: nobody cares about that in the MA, they want kills (badly) and want to furball (badly), so silly people go round and round, and round, and round, down at 500 feet with them, which of course, no sane axis pilot would have ever done, unless they were on crack.

It did have a low power-weight ratio, which it has in AH. Not that that matters as folks try to HO and turn, going round the circle at 120mph...you would die the same way fighting like that against a Gloster Gladiator too, but that doesnt mean the RAF should have stuck with biplanes...;)

What amazes me is the detail of the restoration.  Fishtail exhausts of the right kind for a Vc, large cannon bulge over the cannon bay for the 4 cannon,  Vokes filter under the nose and accurate paint for the time.

Oh to win the lottery someday....

Let's see....

Spit LFXVIe in 602 Squadron markings  LO-Z
P51B in Johnny Godfrey's markings "Reggies Reply"  VF-P
P38G in Corky Smith's 80th FS markings "Corky Jr"  S

Oh think of the possibilities :)

I'm hoping for an article in flight journal in the near future, that certainly is a fine looking restoration.

Probably Flypast or Aeroplane will have the article.

And yeah Bronk it's not a Spit XII.  EN224 is being restored, so someday a Spit XII will be airborne.  EB-L back in the skies :)

I got to help a bit with the history for the guy who owns that bird.

I allowed my subscription for flypast to lapse.  I guess I'll be looking closely at the magazine rack over at barnes and noble regularly.

   Why not ?....
We heard the same thing about the Spit 14 and we now have the Spit 14 & 16 ....
Niki has 4  20s ..... The Spit Vc  would be a great' addition, and add alot of fun to the game .

Been suggested before, never happened.
Plus had the usual "well if it was added, it would have to be perked" BS.
Like I said I'd settle for the 1943 Vc (AKA old AH Mk V), real big miss in scenarios, where the choice is usaully get the current Vb or the IX, let you guess which it normally is.

It's a lovely sight that a Hurri IIc can dive at 400mph and not rip anything. :aok

The reason we won't ever have it is that the vast, vast majority of Spits did not have four cannon.

All N1K2-J's had four cannon.

still it would be nice to have it.  it gives me much more taunt fodder.  the wuss spitdrivers would die just as easily as they do now and the good ones would get as many kills as they do now.

who knows perhaps one day HT will address the performance flaws relating to the ammo lethality modelling for the hsso and .50s  if at the same time they got around to properly upping the lethality of the german mine rounds then the game would be greatly improved.  the game could thenaccomodate this model and it would just be another spitfire.

it would be awesome for scenarios and the AvA.
