Vista Licensing Revised - MS caved
« on: November 02, 2006, 11:04:00 PM »
Nick White, one of the product managers for the Windows Vista launch team, has updated the Windows Vista Team Blog with some very good news. It would seem that the retail Vista licensing terms have been revised to read “You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You may not do so to share this license between devices.” This is what Mr. White had to say about the changes:

Our intention behind the original terms was genuinely geared toward combating piracy; however, it’s become clear to us that those original terms were perceived as adversely affecting an important group of customers: PC and hardware enthusiasts. You who comprise the enthusiast market are vital to us for several reasons, not least of all because of the support you’ve provided us throughout the development of Windows Vista.

i read this differently from the vista beta forum .. it said you can install it on a second machine , but only one machine may be used . and that you can only do this once .

so there more to it then you think . your not really gaining anything here.
