TOC date and time.
« on: November 03, 2006, 08:58:51 PM »
We are getting close to setting the date and time for the Tournament Of Champions in December.
This is definately one of those can't please all the people things to do but I do want to schedule it so as many of the invitees can attend as possible.
Mainly for those attending, it looks like December 9th or the 16th would be the best days to run it. Lets start thinking about them and posting your comments.
Time wise, we usually split the difference between US and Euro KOTH timeslots so 6pm will be the ballpark start time, give or take one hour most likely.
The big unknown is the scheduling of the next scenario, Pearl Harbor and what dates that will be run on.

You can find out if you have a reservation here: http://ahevents.org/site/content/view/189/177/

If it's early for one it's late for the other. This has always been the problem setting a time for the TOC.
Seeing that it will and usually does last 3 to 4 hours we usually slant the start early, that would make it 5pm EST (-5Z) but again we have not finalized the time.

This is exactly why I started this post here. So whoever will be attending can state his or her opinion and we try to satisfy most of them.

If you do not state your opinion early, you can't complain when the date and time are set and you can't make it.

Well, it seems Pearl Harbor is running on both the 9th and the 16th. That runs 3 hours minumum with CMs doing their stuff after it.
That would push the TOC back to 7pm EST (-5Z) at the earliest.

December KOTH will most likely be the 1st and 2nd.
That would put the TOC before the last SatKOTH.

The only other possibility is delaying the TOC until next year or having it on a day other than Saturday.
Of those two, I'd think having it in January would be the alternative.

why does the TOC have to be on a Saturday?

why not have it on a Sunday? say 1pm est, 2pm, or 3 pm?  either on the 10th?  or the 17th?

Close Escort is usually over in 2 hours. That would give us time to start a TOC by 5pm or 5:30pm at the latest. That's in the original ballpark starting time that was suggested. Also, the invitees should all know the rules so I wont have to yak for 30 minutes to explain them.

It looks like December 17th at 4pm EST (-5Z) is available for KOTH's Tournament Of Champions.

That date is pretty firm but we have some wiggle room as far as time goes.

What are the invitees opinions?
