it's real. it is the face of war.
i happen to be one who appreciates the rawness of journalistic war photography and feel that it now plays a huge part of the experience that a country must experience when it choses war over peace.
if there is anything uncalled for, it is the massacre of innocents, or an attempt to glorify that which should be and in the best circles always is, the very last resort and the very worst of paths to travel lightly.
in my view, it is equally tasteless to start a thread that says "best war pictures" hoping that it will be shots of roses and candy.
this coming from the same environment that finds joy in posting videos of real people being mowed down as they try to hide from our gunships.
am i judging that? no. it is a war. but lets not pretend that we are innocents here or that this is the worst thing that has ever been presented here.
and it wasnt dead babies...it was dead men, women and children from the my lai massacre. a terrible chapter in the history of america. a country which proves its worth by scrutinizing itself very publically
am i anti-american? nope. i want us to be the best that we can be. am i anti war? nope. there are times when it must be.
it is not glamorous, it is not beautiful, it is hell. men, women and children die.
what i love about america...at our best, we strive to show all sides.
let's not try to avoid that and then call foul.

that said, i wish to offer my apologies to skuzzy. i did not mean to use your BB as a soapbox in such a way that it would shine a negative light on your business. i had not considered that when i posted. i hope that you will appreciate that i was doing so from a point of conviction that came out before i had a chance to filter it in a better way.
