Ive watched this movie a few times now on Showtime. I suggest anyone looking to kill a few hours on a rainy day to check this movie out. Dosnt make itself out to be a Hollywood movie. Shows a small microcosm of what happened in Rwanda. Only drawback in the movie I saw was Nick Nolte plays the role as a UN officer.

He plays a Canadian?  I thought his character was Belgian.

Either way, good movie.  I thought it would be a lot more emotionally draining a la Schindler's List, but they did a good job of keeping it palatable.

One of the hardest parts was when the rebels drove past the UN soldiers and threw a bloodied UN helmet. All the UN soldiers could do was lower their weapons.

Don Cheedle's character fled to Belgium at the end.  Maybe that was it.

He was portraying General Dallaire. Did you watch or read anything else on my recommendations list ?

This is better than Hotel Rwanda, but it cost $25.

For further info on Dallaire and Rwanda I recommend his book "Shake Hands with the Devil", or the documentary on him ,and his trip back to Rwanda, of the same name.
