Aces High: The Babysitting service (HiTech, please read)
« on: November 08, 2006, 11:43:00 PM »
Alright. I am starting to think squelching isnt enough. I think there should be a way to keep people apart, shut people up, and possibly even PNG for in-game things. I have been stalked recently by a 'lovely' little child by the name of JohnnyJr. he comes on our squad channel, he stalks us ingame, and I (and some of my squad members) are damned tired of it! Its come to the point where the first thing we do when we log on is type .squelch johnnyjr. I have reported him (twice today alone) for both voice and text for harrasing me both ways. Im not whining at HTC to make the mean boy go away, but I think someone should teach this kid a lesson! Today, I decided to pretend I had squelched him, and just take screenshots of his text over the 200, so heres what he said in just one little spasm:

First, he started with the basics: Accusing Gender Difference:

Then, accusing homosexuality:

More homosexual accusations, as well as proving being squelched means nothing to him:

Now, since I have ignored him this whole time, he brings someone else (Who had nothing to do with any of this) into the 'conversation':

And when that too is ignored by both people, he tries it again:

I would have more, but I was busy enjoying myself ;)

But does no one else agree that kids like this should be set right? No ammount of shouting at him, squelching him, ignoreing him or anything else anyone has tried has been able to shut him up, and so I resort to this. This kid later wondered WHY I was upset at him! This IS normal behavior for him, and I in no way provoked him, feel free to ask any of the other people who were there. I just think HTC should consider, I dont know, banning them for a day or something, in an effort to stop behavior like this. I know I am only a teenager, but even I stop somewhere.

Have you ever shot down Johnnyra?  Like father like son I guess.  You really should have sent this by e mail to HTC though.
Who are you to wave your finger?

who says I wont? But no, JohnnyRa, when I have been around him, seems very nice, and when he is on, johnnyjr is actually a nice kid, to the point where me and mine can actually tolerate flying with him. But otherwise, his lack of teamwork, planet-sized ego, and insistence that everyone welcome him but no one tell him what to do are completely... well, they can make people homacidal. :D

If I ever MENTION the word 262, or even say any sentance with those numbers in it, its imidiately "THe other day I got 1,250 kills in a 262!" or "I shot down HiTech TWICE when he was in a 262 and I was in a Spit I!" Or "Ive shot down 3,000,000,000,000 262s!!!"

So what happens if JohnnyJr. shoots down JohnnyRa, or vice versa?

 ...

 Foreman vs Ali?

 Leonard vs Hearns?

Man, that'd be a show worthy of watching.

Apparently JJr gets lots of perks cos he's flying P40b's against his dad's mighty LA7, or so the stats say......
"...and then we discovered why. Why this 'Cheech', who had fought with gods and demons, why he flew the Zeke. He was being kind, giving us a chance to run away."

turn 200 off. i keep mine off and i fly in a dreamlike serenity.

sometimes i find myself within range vox of a bunch of squeakers. usually you find them all flying together. if it gets too bad, i just up at a base from the other side of the map. you cant really blame them for their voices though

you were vague about how johnnyjr hassles your squad, getting on your squad vox, etc. i could potentially see this as a real problem.

but otherwise, just be glad that this community is generally filled with more mature gamers, to the point where you can call someone out by name (as in this thread) and it will be the exception, rather than the rule.

Im on 200 because I like to converse with others. And he normally flies Knights, and you cannot tune off country. But in this situation today, he tuned his VOX directly to me, and made verbal the same comments he typed in.

As to how he harrases us, he comes on our channel, refuses to leave, refuses to be quiet, orders myself and my squads around (To which the normal reply is "Johnny, you are not even in our squad, so I would kindly advise you to shut up!") he follows us on missions, only to go lone ranger, blow our cover, and generaly screw us up. While I understand people do these things, they normally only do one or two. This kid does them ALL!!! Oh, and yeah tinman, Ra gives his kid points. I have even been 'Invited' to "Come join me on the rooks, and let my son shoot you down, we are trying to get him points and bring his rank up" on one occasion.

while i appreciate the need to discuss the subject..

i think that it is just as immature to post names on the BBS with game complaints that would be best delivered to HTC in private.

Werd 88.

Funny you can't handle a little kid and have to come to the BBS whining about it though.

I disagree JB88 with your first phrase and agree with your second.   It is not "as immature" at all.  The difference is so great that it is almost a difference in kind and not in number.

This problem should no exist, but it does.  I don't tune to 200, and on range curse words abound at times.  I click the report button and say something that I hope is in line.  Bad behavior, in a game for all places, is without excuse.

Regards,

hap
