AH just doesn't work once I'm in-game (bugs!!)...

Bugs, which I know others don't have:

1)If I change countries in the Map room, and then go to the Hangar, I get sent to the Tower, hear lots of gunfire on the way, also see tracers, message says; 'You have been killed'.

2)Selecting Hangar from the Tower doesn't give me the option to choose a new plane - it just puts me in the seat of the default plane with the engine running. On several rare occasions when going from the the Map room to the Hangar, I've gotten to the plane selection area. But usually the bug described above happens.

I've downloaded AH twice now (assuming first download was corrupt) and also installed it twice, but these bugs happen every time  ( !

PC spec: AMD K6-II 450, 128Mb RAM, Win 98.

Sounds like you're clicking H instead of Hangar.  That H means you want to launch from the hangar, and if you're at a vehicle field and in a plane, this will kill you.  It sounds like that's what's happening, try clicking on the word 'hangar'.

Fatty's answer sounds like the solution to number 2, but I think number 1 is different.It sounds like you are trying to take off from an enemy field, and their flak is getting you before you get to the cockpit. It's happened to me many times.

Might be if you're offline, I think you can go to an enemy field offline mode but not online?

I've re-installed AH again, and now for some reason I have the Hangar button  .

 The only thing is - I now have no WEP. The default P key doesn't do anything, even if I re-map it. I've tried to also map it to a flight-stick button, but no luck there either. Am I destined never to play this sim, I wonder  ...?

Did you defrag before you installed the program . If not might help .

I tried that option too   - still with no luck. I'm completely vexed as to what to do next.

If you're not getting wep now, it's probably because your throttle is out of calibration and is not registering full input.  Try recalibrating your throttle and see if that fixes it.

Like Pyro said, all you need to do now is recalibrate in Windows, then AH.  Your throttle range is just off.  No big deal.
