Travaler, the problem was that one LW arena would max out at 350, and the other arena would have only 30 players. So to try and make 2 LW arenas playable HTC set it up so the caps on the arenas would raise slowly. This way the 2 LW arenas start out with a 120 cap. When the "Blue" LW arena reaches 80% of the arena cap (96) players the cap on the "orange" LW arena jumps to 140 or so opening up more room there. Once the numbers in the "orange" LW arena climbs to 80% of cap (112) players the "blue"LW areena cap jumps to 140. (btw, my numbers may be way off, and should only be used as an exsample)
This gradual climb in the cap numbers is set-up to make the "2" LW arenas populate more evenly making both of them "playable"
EW, and MW, don't have a cap problem as they are never full....sorry to say..... so they are not set up the same way. When HTC first split the arenas, 350 was the cap number they started with so thats why the EW and MW are still at 350, they never had to mess with them.
Side balancing, is another thing all together, and is more player controlled. My thinking is that if the player base doesn't police it self a bit better and work toward a better ballance the customer complaints may become too much for HTC and we will see another sweeping change in the set-up to force a better balance. This is only "my" opinion
