AH Tuning Question

I have been noticing more and more some strangeness around me.  Well, besides the normal strangeness.   I have been experiencing what I can only call .... "Shots from the after life."

Here is the scenario....I dive in on an Osti....I smoke its turret.  I do this from about 600-400 out and see the smoke billow up.  I pull up....fly away with a satisfied feeling of accomplishment....then I look behind me.  What is this?  Tracers?  from a smoking Osti?  I get fired at for about 2 - 3 seconds and then the tracers stop.  The osti ditches and I get the kill.   On a couple of occasions I have gotten killed by the smoking Osti.   PS: no supplies are out.

Scenario Two:  I'm 400 out from a panzy.  I light up his turret with my panzy.  I see the smoke rise.   Then to my horror....I see his gun barrel turn.... pointing now straight at me  me...and it FIRES!   I am dead.   From a panzy that has no turret.

When flying.... I get that passing shot....I "think" I hit them in the cockpit, but there were no hit sprites.  I get ready to reverse and then they explode behind me after a couple of seconds.

So I am "assuming" there is "something" up with my settings/configuration.  I upgraded to FIOS last week but still see the same effects.  I have a ping rate of 47ms on the login screens.   Is there anything "I" can do to address this?

Osti and Panzer, is it possible you only damaged the engine?

On the planes I see that too sometimes.  It is no more than a second but it feels like a lifetime in the midle of a fight.  Most likely lag.

Maybe, just maybe you only killed their engines.  the turent smoke and engine smoke look alike and also appear almost (to me anyway) from the same location.

Smoking vehicles can mean a disabled turrent, but they can also only mean a disabled engine.  You only know for sure which damage was done when you either see them firing turrent (meaning engine is out) or driving (meaning turrent is out).

I on occation get hits without hit sprites, Im unsure what the cause of that is, but it happens sometimes.

Scenario #1- U smoked his engine....not his gun, thus he's still able to fire his gun, he just can't move.

Scenario #2- See answer for scenario #1.

Scenario #3- I would say that's lag and we all suffer it from time to time. Theres really nothing u can do about, I'd say ur settings are fine.

Today i had a UFO our a invisible plane. All alone in middle of two bases i was chasing down a 38 fire a couple mg and i got hit. Like kill shooter I checked the map and scanned the are but only the 38 was around. Strange!!

  I have seen this exact same thing...  Turret hit on osty and see it start smoking from my plane but it will fire for a sec or two befor the damage registers on his end....  I would just put these occurances down to lag.
