Giuliani Takes First Steps Toward White House Run
« on: November 14, 2006, 04:55:15 PM »
The way I see it. He is about the only hope the Reps have of keeping the White house

Giuliani takes step toward White House bid

As it stands now
I just dont see anyone else the Reps have that would be able to get the vote of both conservatives and moderates.

And thats what its going to take for either party to win the next election

Not only their party. But a significant number of moderate votes from the other party and independants

But. the elevtion is still two years away.
And alot of things can happen in the next two years.
Just cause the Dems are smelling like roses now. Doesnt mean they will be two years from now.

Rudy's got a lot of baggage, you sure the conservitave base would fully embrace a pro choice, pro gay multiple divorce'? Remamber how he flaunted his mistress around town while still married? He even spent the holidays with his mistress instead of his wife and kids.

Other than those things he's a great Family Values candidate. :lol

The GOP has no one that can motivate their voters more than Hillary Clinton. Hell, they are positively salivating at the possibility.

The media has long since forgotten that Rudy's approval ratings were in the toilet before the Towers fell. He's probably a good guy to have around after someone blows up your **** but I'm wondering if he can handle the mundane day to day stuff.

His approval ratings were probably down because he cleaned up NY substantially.

The world is funny like that. The wirtyest sections dont like being cleaned up.

From across the river here it looked to me he did a damn good job in NY in spite of whatever ratings he had.

If he can appeal to the moderates on both sides. He wnt need the GOP base.

Most Republicans and Democrats are moderates IMO

Whats called "the base" of eitehr party usually leans so far right, and so far left. they should probably be considered as entirely different parties then those they belong to

At this point, I wouldn't be so sure that Hillary will get the nomination.

that is one of the things that kills me about her.
Most politicians you know are full of crap but they at least try to put on a good act about what they are BSing you about.

She is such a bad liar she doesnt even look like she is trying to lie well.

She should just wave a flag around when she talks that says "look at me. Im full of crap. And we both know it. but vote for  me anyway"

I predict that the Democrat to watch is not Hillary Clinton. It's Barack Obama.

If he has aspirations for the White House, he must run next year. The worst thing that could happen to him is that another Democrat becomes President in 2008. If so, he won't have another shot at the Presidency until 2016. He must run now.

One thing to keep in mind about Obama is that Oprah Winfrey freaking loves this guy and if she can turn a book into a best seller simply by featuring it on her show, what do you think she can do with a political candidate?

The thing about Barack is that he is very well spoken and likeable. I like him and think he speaks very well. Other than likeable and well spoken, he has nothing. No experience at anything and no real record to ponder.
