Since I rebooted and redownloaded AH the analog throttle is now controled by the slide on the throttle quadrent. How do I get it back to the throttle lever?I've tried reprogamming it bit it only controls one engine.

Try reinstalling the stick software. Or going into the Saitek software and resseting the stick to defaults.

Or oyu could make the change in AH2. You can manually select which axis you want assigned to what function within the Configure Controls menu.

I've got Z-axis as analog input throttle 1

and the slider is analog input RPM 1

I'm using the saitek sofware as well, I didn'nt have a problem with the upgrade.

That's what I endded up doing. But when you map the Z axsis as throttle 1
you run into problems when your in a multi engine plane.
So I made z axsis throttle 1 and the slider throttle 2.

when I first got the x52....I had that problem too....
Only one engine would work on the slider/throttle.....

damned if I can remember how I fixed it....  I think that there's soemthing about engine defaults in the web site help file.

Your throttle 1 axis will control all engines in multi engine planes by defult.  If not, press Shift+E and it will.  You do have select engine commands available though (Shift_1, Shift_2, Shift_E...ect.).  When you use the select engine commands, the "throttle1" will only affect the selected engine, and all other engines will stay at their previous settings.

Just though Id mention it.  That is the setup I use when flying my P38.  The throttle is set as throttle1, and if I want individual control, I just press a button to select that engine.
