Ok last night I'm flying around LW orange and after a bit I pick up squad chatter about the Nits having one of our CV's down in the SW corner of the map behind the main island....
3 of us Chopern, Cablmndr and I with Talas as P51B escort decide to do something about it and we up 3 flights of B17's and start the long climb.. After 6 sectors and 20K we see not 1 but 2 CV's!!! Nits had stolen the rooks ship also. We line up on the first one, I have it in my bomb sight just about to drop and BLINK dump to desk top saying Aces High has encountered an error!!!! LOL I think Nits have a secret weapon of some kind.
I log back to find out that Chop had gotten good hits and Cable Had sunk both CV's from 20K.. See guys you don't have to dive bomb CV's
I jump in Chops 17's as a gunner and find he has 3 planes after him. 2 spits and a hog. Chop gets the kill on the first spit, I managed to make the F4U run off I think he had a pilot wound because I got the kill a few minuits later and then I shot the wing off of the last spit.
Over all a good bombing run with a bit of frustration mixed in.
Been a long time sense there has been a good reason for a long bomber flight.
