What do these numbers mean, and how do they relate to RGB, CMYK, ect....

(0.6f , 0.6f, 0.8f, 1.0f)

is is an RGB percentage and and alpha?

in other words..what would one look for to put a certain color in that format?

:)

These are RGBA colors - Red Green Blue Alpha

The numbers you see are percentages of a pure color.  (1.0f is 100%, or red, green, or blue).

They can also be approximated by 256 colors, but since the numbering starts at zero it's actually 0-255.  Therefore, the 0.6f (the f stands for float which is code-speak for a decimal number) is 60% of 255.

Floats are generally used now-a-days since you can have much greater granularity than 256.

Edit:  took me too long to reply, HT beat me to it.

I like root beer floats and color wheels. :)

Are there any decent color pickers / converters which display the percentages?
