Photoshop help.

Im working with Adobe Image Ready and Photoshop  trying to make a new avatar.

I get to the point of where I have my first frame. (In image ready) But I cannot figure out how to add different pictures to the other frames. The tutorials are not helping.

For each frame you select the layer that you want visible.

In the animation window, click on the frame that you want to modify and then look at the layer window and check the layer that you want to be visible on that frame.

If you select multiple layers for a single frame, the top layer will be the only one visible.

Blue... open up the avatar that you have right now using ImageReady.

Click on each animation frame and then have a look at the changes to the layers.

You'll see how it's constructed.

That helped alot. I still dont know how to add a new image. As in a completely different picture.

I.E. A apple in frame 1. Then a orange in frame 2.

Example...

Paste an apple in the layer.

Create a second layer and paste an orange into that.

Open the animation frame.

Select frame one and then make the apple layer visible and the orange invisible.

Select frame two and make the orange layer visible and the apple invisible.

AH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got it. I had to open the image in another program and copy and paste it. It wouldnt allow me to copy it in photoshop.

Blue the Selection tool should solve that should be able to paste anything.  Also if you have the "arrow" selected pasting isnt allowed.

There is no option under "Save optimized as" for a .gif file. Only choices it has is HTML and images (*.html), Images Only (*.jpg), and HTML Only (*.html).

If I send it back to photoshop and save it as a .gif there It does not work. I get what I have up now.

in menu bar select "Window" and check "optimize"

A little tool box should appear with three tabs. Select "optimize" tab
You should see two drop down menus. Select "GIF" on "Format" drop down list.

After that is set, you should have "GIF" option when clicking on "Save optimized as"...
