Mid War Arena!
« on: November 17, 2006, 08:23:15 PM »
Just like to give a shout out to the players who make the MW arena a great place to fight!  I would never have fought some (who I consider better) players in AH if it weren't for the MW arena!  While that might scare some newbies away, all things considered, the MW arena isn't for newbies.  But, for those looking for good fights with experienced players look no further!

Regards,

Malta

Agreed, some of the best fights I've ever flown in 4 years of playing AH have been in Mid and Early war arena.

Great pilots in great planes without the uber-hoard.

I haven't logged into other arenas save checking out the EWA in the first week and flying twice with my squadron in LWA. This is the place for me.

I couldn't disagree with you more. The MW is a great place for newbies, just as any other arenas or better. Having La7s or Spit 16s does not make a good newbie arena. Having both a diverse and a balanced plane set does make one.

In addition, the more relaxed nature of MWA allows a newbie to ask questions and be answered or even have a serious channel 200 talk with the guy who shot him down. On several occasions I have explained newbies (I think they were) exactly why a P47 can "out turn" a spit and what they did wrong. Some of them even had the nerve to come back and shoot me down (the chickie bastards).

MWA is the closest to the old MA spirit (not that one, even older...). It's not land grab craziness or totally lacking in bombers and attackers like EWA. It has representative models from all major plane lines of WWII. Only down side is that it suffers during USA off hours.

Thank you HTC for making it. Come on people, login and share the joy!

I agree 100%. I have been saying this since the change was first made. The amount of people in the arena lends itself to comraderie, since most won't mouth off in small groups, and I too have had some very helpful flights and discussions in the MWA, storch being one of the most helpful ones. Ironically, I did just what you said, too, and nicked his wing off with pink spit next time up. Of course, I had lost far more than that up to that point.......:)

The MW has slowly become my new home on Aces High, the fights seem better and there is more team work and not really a whole lot of furballs or noobs:)
