Noobe Help
« on: November 17, 2006, 11:49:08 PM »
OK, I loaded AH fine, calibrated my joystick and buttons fine.

I can get into the cockpit, the engine starts, and thats it.  The game isn't locked, the keyboard commands seem to work (can kill the engine, shoot up the hanger, etc) , but I can't go anywhere and nothing on my joystick works.

HP Laptop
AMD Athlon xp2800 3D now
Radeon IGP 320m
Logitech Extreme 3D

I used to fly WB years ago, but I don't know much about hardware or gaming.

Any help appreciated.

First of all, there's a few things you need to do.

Go to options > Controls > Control Map (something like that).

Make sure your throttle is assigned. There was something where either the rudder or throttle (throttle I think) wasn't mapped by default. On this screen you can click "Default" and it will apply a basic default mapping to the stick and buttons.

Note that it probably doesn't have "fire primary" "fire secondary" and "select secondary weapon" mapped by default, since a few patches back it stopped doing this. If so just fire the button on your stick and it will highlight the button in the list. You can double click it and map it as you like. The ones that might be missing are under the "global" commands.

After you check and cal your joystick in windows.

you have to assign the throttle to the "Slider" then cal in ah .

Thanks.

I'm in the air.  My hardware is limiting the quality, but all seems to be functioning.
