Why do people issue challenges like that?  It isn't really relevant to the statements he quoted, which by the way were quite accurate.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Israel could take on Iran in a stand up ,military fight and hold their own. Everyone like to make statements like you about how Hezbollah is still there but look at the tactics they use. They hide inside the civilian population. They fire rockets from civilian neighborhoods. They attack and then scurry back and hide behind women and children, and then wait for world opinion to side with them when Israel retaliates as we have all just seen. It's the same thing in Iraq. These extreamists don't care if women or children get killed, but they know the liberals of the world DO and that helps their cause.

The only way to fight extreamism and win is to get to the point where we don't care anymore ourselves about the collatoral damage we inflict. I know that sounds harsh, and it is, but try and remember back to 9/11. How did watching everything that happened that day make you FEEL? At that time would you have cared if we had nuked someplace in the middle east? Were you worried about hurting all the women and children that were dancing in the street? I know for myself I could have given a ratts bellybutton about them, and personaly I still don't care about them.

The point being, there isn't a single country over there that could stand up to a head to head fight with Israel or the US. People are so soft now that when they see or hear about some civilians getting hurt or killed all of a sudden it's time to tie the hands of the military and we end up with Iraq.

US policy needs to change to something along the lines of this. Make a statement to the world that if any US or allied soldier or citizen is killed, for every single loss we take, we will drop a bomb on a civilian target at random. You want to live then you better turn these bastards over to us or kill them yourselves. The time is quickly approaching when the "moral high ground" is not going to matter anymore. Talking doesn't work. Giving aid and medicine doesn't work. Leaving the middle east will not work. This fight is here and now and the only way we can maintain our way of life is to fight the war as harshly as they do. That's the only thing they will understand. We will eventually be forced to fight in a manner that is as barbaric as the enemy's if we are going to win.

For those that think that if we have to stoop to that level, then maybe we shouldn't win, convert to Islam now because that will be your only choice left.

Alot of points have been made in this thread I started. Personally I feel that the underlying problem that generates all of this fanatasism is "Religion". Religion and all of it's dogmas appeal to the undereducated oppressed masses. I am not advocating a thread here about communisim here either. My point being this. For as long as history has been recorded. It has always come down to my God is better then your God B.S.
I do believe in God! I do not believe in any form of Religion. It is all man made and contrived. When the world pulls it's head out of its collective arse then and only then will it change. Unfortunately ignorance only recognises brute force. So.............do I feel Saddam should have been left in power? Absoloutely! Hind site is 20/20 I know, but look where we are at now. All of this mess because somebody wanted to get a little payback for daddy.

I never said or intended anything like that. You're revealing your anti-christian bigotry with that comment.

Yea I was afraid that my last post would make me look like an advocate for communisim / socialism. Which I am not. Nor am I a right winger or a leftist. More of a live and let live so long as you stay out of my face and let me live the way I want to live kind of guy. Getting back to the point of this thread. Millitant Islam serves no purpose other then getting other Muslims killed to forward a religious pious agenda to dominate the world through their antiquated philosophies. To believe in God does not require rules and regulations to do so.:D

uber... don't get me wrong... I am not a religious man either and fear any religion (including the religion of government) that gets any power over me.

Like you, I wish to be left alone and not arrested or killed because I won't do what someone in power wants me to do.

I see muslims as a bigger threat only because they are such a primitive religion with fundamental ideas that take away all personal freedom.   I do not wish to live under their rule in the least.

The only way to fight terrorism is to become terrorists ourselves.

Absolutely laughable.
