Mouse Cursor Float
« on: August 12, 2000, 05:19:00 PM »
I've had this problem for several versions now, was hoping it would get fixed before posting.  After starting the program and getting to the opening screen just fine... my mouse cursor goes stupid. It reacts to mouse movements as though it were connected with a long rubber band. Any normal movement causes the cursor to lag for a 1/2 second then overshoot by inches. The cursor can only follow ultra slow, short (1/8th inch) movements with any accuracy at all. As you can guess, this unusual behavior makes it nearly impossible to navigate the menus.

My system:

Celeron 300/ Asus BH6 motherboard
(overclocked to 450mhz - no difference)
96megs - 100mhz ram
Riva TNT graphics adapter
Logitech cordless mouse
(acceleration off - on / no difference)
Turtle beach Montego II
Thrustmaster F-22/TQS/RCS

WINDOWS 98 wi DX-7(latest vers.)
Latest ASUS BIOS (no difference)

I also see this mouse lag, although it is much less pronounced for me, and not really a problem.

What resolution/color depth are you running?  What sort of frame rates?

Having a low framerate might cause this.  I see it most when I crank up the 4XFSAA and my framerate goes in the toilet.

We've seen this problem that was the result of video card drivers.  Updating your video drivers may solve this for you.

Pyro:

Upgraded to the latest Riva Generic TNT driver and Version 1.04... Cursor works normally now. Thanks for the tip!
