Well sir...A sound fishermen eh????  My boat is docked in Bridgeport...Been doing the blue tourny for five years now.  Too bad your not around this season, blue's and strippers hitting like crazy in the area.  I just wish I had a bigger boat so I could make it out to the race without dying

I got a kayak a couple weeks ago. It's a Hobie Mirage Outback set up for fishing. Anyone have any tips on rigging a kayak? I put a sonar on it already.

yeah CAV, i lived on the north shore of long island for about 10 years, in the Northport area. was stationed there in the CG. spent many many a day and night fishing in the Sound for all manner of fish. like i said though, i am primarily a freshwater guy.

long island sound personal bests-

19lb 3oz Blue
28lb 12oz Stripper
13lb 10oz Blackfish
87 strippers (all schoolies) in 1 day

i have really fond memories of fishing in the Sound. some pretty sketchy ones too; like the time i paddled out off Eatons Neck point in a 10ft dingy to drift for Blues and got sunk in a freak squall =)

Speaking of stripers. Lake Pleasant is 25 miles north of Phoenix and the stripers have been crazy for the past few months.

People have caught over 50 an hour at times using frozen anchovies, mosty. There is no limit on them, because officials want to control them...........they made it into the lake from the Colorado river a few years ago.

Some have been over 25 pounds.

I enjoy fishing, can't ever seem to catch anything unless I'm on a boat then, and then it's only in freshwater lakes.  Of the 15 or so hours I've spent deep sea fishing in the gulf I've only caught 3 red snapper that were too small.

That's my story, good luck on the new business.

I live for fishing. I fush for steelhead when it cools down around here. Then go ice fishing on the lake if/when it freezes over. In the summer our lake is quickly becoming one of the top lakes in the world for bass and walleye. When we cant get out on a boat we fish for carp in the streams and rivers because sometimes you get a good fight out of them and their big.

We dont eat any bottom feeders out of the lake. The NYS guide says only eat one fish a month out of the lake.

Yea, I know, its pretty freakin sad that your not supposed to eat fresh fish thanks to all the PCB's and Mercury and god knows what else.  Most of what I eat comes out of the Mississippi, it's still damn delicious but I don't eat too much of it.
