Richards had a meltdown. What the video didn't show was him flopping. The ordeal started when people in the VIP section were ignoring him and being noisy. He went off on them to STFU and the black guy applauded Richards. Here is where it went strange, Richards starts going off on the black guy that was on his side. That's where the video starts.

I couldnt agree more.  It seems like the media cant wait to declare someone's career over.  They are saying Tom Cruise is 'finished', like Michael Jackson, since he got married (really...read the Fox 411 thingy).

As for the comic double standards...Andrew Dice Clay learned that one some time ago.  Potty mouth Eddie Murphy was all that in the 80s.  Now he's in zillions of kiddy movies.  Go figure.

What a shame..

If he had been black and named Chapelle then the crowd would laugh their brains out.

Kramer was the only funny one in the Seinfeldt show (the large balled guy was funny too) . Too bad he went ballistic, cause i think he may have had a chanse at starting his own tv show as Kramer without that booring Seinfeldt around.

And the least funny one on the show IMO

Was Seinfeld.

And that dopey dark haired chick whom I wanted to reach through the screen and smack most of the time LOL

I agree with sandie that it is a big deal over nothing.   I can't believe that a word that is so often used by so many people with no stigma is not allowed by others.    

If negroes can say it then everyone should be able to.   It really is that simple.

I give him more credit for speaking personally about it on Letterman and not just making a press release through a spokesperson.

The video is difficult to watch.  Not only because of the hate during the whole rant, but also because I think we actually witness him having a nervous breakdown, or at minimum some sort of anxiety episode.  He is not a stand-up commedian, he is a character actor.  He never seems comfortable when I see him in interviews or trying to be spontaneous.  I think he simply lost it.

that is a good point... kaufman did some stuff that was more outrageous so far as feinged nervous breakdowns and fake hate speech but...

He never used the dred "N" word!!!!!!!!  the word that will burn the tounges of the melinin challenged white debil!@!!!!!!

It is so silly... lefties should be making fun of the "N" word... the ACLU should be rushing in to make it a household word...

The proof of the double standard is right here.  Who gives a rat's flug what he said.  If he truly hates blacks, thats his deal.  In my opinion, blacks can condemn the word and references to racial inequality when they stop using them themselves.
