don't worry the pendulum is swinging back in the other direction. more and more people are becoming tired of blacks getting away with overt racism and calling blacks who exhibit this behavior on the spot for it. if a black person makes a racist statement in my presence he or she gets called on it immediately. I'm happy to say that I'm not the only one that does this publically. one doesn't need to be crass about how you call them on it but they do need to corrected about it.

Ignorance is color blind. A person that uses derogatory racial inflamatory language, well is.............ignorant. Being in a racially/cultural mixed marriage. I have 0 tolerance for pedjudices based upon that or bigotry in general.

Most of us don't use that word, but many of you clearly seem to know more blacks (or negroes, in Lazs' case) than I do.

"all blacks this" and "all blacks that." Since you seem to know so many, why not find one of your black friends or people you know, and ask them?

Educated and thoughtful people wouldn't use that word, which is probably why most of the posters here are SO disappointed at not feeling allowed to use it.

The word demeans and denigrates, regardless of who says it. It's not a term of endearment to me, and I think less of someone who uses it.

Maybe it is a double standard form your perspective. I don't believe it is, since it's used as a sign of kinship within certain circles, but an insult when someone not black, or not affiliated with the community that embraces that language, uses it.

It's unfortunate, but not at all surprising, that many of you fail to comprehend the complexity of that argument.

I say, have at it. Exercise free speech, say what you want, I'll bring the popcorn.

Saw the freak-out and subsequent apology on Letterman. Taken together, it looked rediculously staged. Either it was, or Michael Richards is just somebody that's impossible to take seriously.

red bottom... I currently don't have any negro black afro american whatever is current "friends" .

I do have normal hearing and I do get around. I have heard plenty of negros use the big "N" word and the small "n" word (negro) as in "hey negro whats up" kinda deal.

I think that you condoning one race using a word and not another is despicable and racist.

I don't think whites should be able to use the term cracker or honky or redneck but have it denied to other races for instance but... by your feeble reasoning.... it should be.

You only make things worse in my opinion.
