Can you map joystick hat switches with no Numpad?

(I just KNOW nilsen will be here soon to give me crap ;) )

Can you map a joystick hatswitch with views when you have no numeric pad on your laptop?

If you don't have an answer, I understand, because Ripsnort back in the air on AH would mean certain death for 99% of you. ;)

yep.

definately.

when you go to program you just press to the side you want input to and it highlights it while it awaits further instructions.  you can even let it fall back to center and it will still be highlighted so long as you dont move it into another view.
this thread is doomed.

Could you specify alittle more, do you mean the program with the stick (X45) or the program in AH?

You can program them in AH.

With the X45, unfortunatly the names of the buttons in the list (Map Controller screen) are messed up, as AH uses the names assigned by DX. So dont let that confuse you.

Make sure the X45 is selected controller in upper right corner and below that, you got mode1 selected. Then just PRESS a button, and then map it to the function you need (ignoring its designation in the list). For example for the Hatswitch, just flip it in back position to mark it on the list. then MODIFY and select "Views" - Look Back. OK.

(if you havent mapped the stick at all yet, try the "DEFAULT MAP" button, if youre lucky it will not only assign the axis, but also the hatswitch directions. Be careful though, that overrides any mapping you have already done.
