Author Topic: Latest Patch and Terrain update Problem (Read 629 times)

OK, I've just had the new patch downloaded and installed no problem. When I went to go into the Arena it downloaded the new terrain, which failed to install correctly (I Can't remember the alarm that was given). now whenever I slect the relevant main new server arena, I just get dumped back to the desktop.

Any thoughts (700MHz Athlon , Win 98).

Just tried off line, even that is dumping me to desktop.

Same here. The first time it let me go into the initial menu, and select "H2H", then select a game. It tried to load, and crashed to desktop with a runtime error. The second time I tried running AcesHigh.exe, without rebooting, I got a

Runtime Error

Program:C:\programfiles\htc\aceshigh\aceshigh.exe

abnormal program termination"

error...

what could this be? I was running 1.084 with no problems. The switch to 1.085 is what did it.

Athalon 1.2, WinME(unfortunately), 256 ddr, Asus geforce2mx with Nvidia Direct Draw 4.0 drivers..

Did u try and delete that terrian that dind't install right ?

I had some problems the other night with the updating terrian , it tried to do it over and over . Finally I just deleted it and started from scratch and got in the game .

I tried deleting the terrain and it didnt work. In fact I completely uninstalled AH, deleted all the files and re installed from 1.081 upwards and still get the same problem. No error messages occur, I just get booted to the desktop.

Not surprisingly I'm not very impressed.

Absolutely the same problem tried same things with the same results, now ctd on or off line this sucks never had any problems in 2.5 years of AH with same setup

Having the same problem. Had no problems with 1.084, but now I am dumped to desktop with no error message. Both offline and online.

PII 450MHz
Win 98
Voodoo II

I'm having same problem. with update. I saved my old version before installing new one. After re-installing previous version I could play offline so something is sc#$ed up with update. :i)

Pyro said "Did you get an error message when the update installed? I had someone have this problem today and it cleared when they reran the installation. If you used the auto-updater, it will put the file ah1084t1085.exe in your aces high folder. Just rerun that. If you see an error when you try to install it, delete and manually download it from our downloads page."

Now I have downloaded the full install file ah1085 and re ran that, so far it's looking good and am now downloading another terrain (yawn).

If I dont post another message in a couple of minutes, all is ok!

Ran the AH1084T1085.exe again and now it works. Thanks for the help.
