I'm having a problem with the headlights on my car (2005 Chrysler Sebring Limited)...I get out of work tonight and turn on my car, go to put the lights on and nothing happens...I screw around with the switch a little and I get em on....On the ride home my lights randomly cut out five times....Everytime I was able to get them back on by screwing with the switch...By holding the switch back I could get high beams on but it wouldnt stay in that position if I took my hands off it...Its like the light switch isnt clicking and holding in place...I have already checked the fuse box and cant find anything wrong there...Any advice so I can do some trouble shooting and avoid the mechanic tomorrow?

thanks

True...Whats weird is when the lights are on the switch is locked into that position....Then randomly they shut off (without touching anything) and the switch wont lock...Its hard to explain, but the switch is free to spin in either direction without clicking

It's a feature built in so you can flash your lights and not ment for full time duty. It has a seperate power supply from the dash switch. It could be a bad circuit breaker on the dash switch.

If your pulling on the dash switch and they come on, then it's a faulty switch. Sounds like you need to run by the dealership and get it fixed under warranty.

Thats exactly what is going on....I'm really fluff'n pissed...This car is a lemon...A 25 thousand dollar lemon.  In the past year this has happened, a strut has snapped (wasnt hard driving at all....), radio knob has fallen off and emergency break grip has lost its adhesive and spins....

I hate Chrysler and I will never buy from them again

If screwing with the switch is what makes the lights come back on, then it's not a fuse or the headlights themselves, it's the switch.

You could try to spray the switch with electrical contact cleaner....as long as the cleaner can get to the switch.

Probably the switch will need to be replaced.

They either blow a fuse or burn something.
