That is not true. The distance between the airfields directly affects the type of gameplay that develops.

Id  say a map Is worth 2 year sub.  Thats just 360USD Not even a weeks pay

Gee what a rip off :O

At my normal billing rate, a 2yr sub is only about 3 hrs of my time. I can't complete a map in that time.

Seriously, those of us who are working on maps are not doing it for $$$ we are doing it because of a love for this game. Everyone needs to be patient, HTC is a small outfit and it will take time for maps to be approved.

I think a contect would only produce a large number of maps that HTC would just have to throw out right away and waste thier time getting seruous contenders approved.

A bit of advice to anyone deciding to work on an MA map. No matter what you do, just like anything else in Whiner's High, someone will complain about it. So, do it for yourself and make damned sure you are ready for the fecal storm that will appear here right after its release. :D

As HiTech has stated, the key is giving them what they want, not what they ask for!

For me, the key is doing what I want. If what I want pisses off more than it pleases, HTC will pull the map. If not, I was successful. The point is, please yourself first, the rest will take care of itself. :)

Once a terrain builder starts looking at it from a commercial point of view

I didnt Mean looking at it like that from the builders standpoint That is passion and something i would never attempt

Only that now with 4Ma and the work it takes to build one HTC should offer those that due some incentive for doing so no so much as to compensate for ther time , But A Hey thanks here you go You give to the game it gives to you  Like a one time only thing I think it would get some new maps on the table

But uh please dont stop making maps even if you get nothing I will enjoy them :D

You are so WRONG!   Gimme a break Gryffin.   Regardless of what map is up now.   Whoever is "on the short stack", will be getting gangbanged (Knight, Bish or Rook).   The other two countries will "sell the opposite buy attacking a field and getting a 1/2 sector to full darbar".   Meanwhile, the country with 50-60 is fighting a two front war against 50-60 on each front.    Map "quality" plays no part in this.   This comes down to "I want the free perks that I could easily get with 2-3 hops."

Also, maps cannot help how timid the pile-its are nowadays.   The last 6 months I've watched the MA's, and new arenas wind up suffering in the quality of the fights.   In AH1, and up to last summer (05), you could ALWAYS find a good fight somewhere.   Now, this is no longer the case.

As for whining about more maps, make em yerself or get in line.

You are entitled to your opinion. I am just saying what I have observed. The closer the fields the better the action.

I am assuming this isn't directed at me, I am not whining about more maps.
