Let It Snow!
« on: November 29, 2006, 08:57:41 PM »
Yup!  Here in St. Louis.. expecting our first snowfall of the season...

After having four pretty much trouble-free winters, we're expecting about 10 inches of the stuff Thursday...  Which also happens to be my birthday!  woohoo! Now keep in mind this will be on top of 1-2 inches of ice... it'll make a nightmare out of the evening commute home.  Did I mention I love the white stuff?

Good thing I got fired Monday!  Finally land a good job... a job I enjoy.. good money... just STARTING to get caught up on the bills we got behind on from me being out of work before... and the bastards let me go.  Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas to me, huh?

And it had absolutely nothing to do with my performance.. it was purely for political reasons!  So now here I am... no money.. don't know how I'm going to cough up rent, let alone have ANY kind of a Christmas at all...  I'm now officially ruined.  Good thing we don't have any kids.

All I can hope for is for unemployment to kick in quickly (which would only happen if they don't contest it.. which is unlikely), or for me to find a job in the next few days that will pay me pretty much immediately (more unlikely).

It's a crying shame too.. because I had the budget worked out so that I'd be completely caught up on my utilities, rent, etc, get my computer upgraded (so I can get back onto AHII), and still have ample money so everyone can have a nice Christmas.  You know.. I don't get angry easily... I'm a very easy going guy it really does take a lot to get me going...

But I'm so furious right now... I snapped at my wife and threw the phone across the room... AND I somehow upset the dogs in the process.  This is so unlike me and I feel awful for losing it like that.  I'm just completely stressed out to the max here, and I just don't know how much more I can take.

All I did was work my BUTT off... and I feel like I'm the one who keeps getting punished for it.  I'm sorry guys I don't mean to cry to you like this I don't want anything.. guess I just needed to vent.

If anyone is from the area and knows any positions that need filling... I've got tons of automotive experience (repairs AND service management).  I've also got several Microsoft administration Certs and would love to get into the IT industry, but that seems to be even a tougher road these days.  Anyway if anyone knows anyone who is hiring I can really use the advice right now.

In the meantime, hopefully the snow will cheer me up...

Well normally I'd love to be out of a job.. but I just GOT this job two months ago after being out of work for two months.

Good thing is that it looks like I'll be eligible for unemployment this time.  Bad news is all our savings paid bills from when I was out of work before... Worse news is wife took a less paying (but less stress) job about a month ago because it looked like at the time I'd be working there a good, long time.

But.. right now I'm looking out the window and seeing everying covered in ice... a few snow flakes starting to fall... can't help but to smile, because at least I don't have to fight the traffic today!

Temps are starting to drop here, but it's still warm even with the rain.  High today was in the 60's, which is unheard of in Ohio this time of year.  I got to ride the bike yesterday and Tuesday, which was awesome.

We're looking at possible snow tomorrow evening.  :(

Hang in there Tigger

My step dad can't seem to keep a second auto tech no matter how hard he tries.  He just hired a guy but if he goes the way of the past 5 or 6, the new tech will be gone by mid December.  Thinking about it, I've seen quite a few positions in the auto tech industry open up lately around the Denver area.

If you know how to work sheet metal and talk real nice to Bodhi he might have something for you.

Hope you get something going your way though bro, good luck.
