So there we were...
« on: December 03, 2006, 11:53:25 AM »
defending A1 from the massive horde that Rooks had last night in LWOrange. 5 guys from our squad upped in 109g14's too defend ( i opted for the 30mm loadout). We climb to the north a short ways and when we reached 10k we doubled back into the fray. Rooks were making massive ground attack runs with packs of 190s and p47s, with your usual fitr support of assorted aircraft. I manage 1 kill, then 2 kills, then 3 kills. I'm feeling both good and lucky. Squad is communicating well, covering each other, the works. Nevertheless we start losing guys due to the overwhelming numbers we faced. One of our guys upped a 163. I start chasing this Jug that keeps making passes on the field, while trying to avoid getting picked. After about 5 or 6 passes over the field he's running out of E and I'm seconds away from getting a shot. d800 and gaining, d600, he's mine, I check all my views (working on my SA), I'm still clear, i've got him, d400 (another frantic SA check) and closing fast, d200, I squeeze off a tater round...

... and my starboard wing comes completely off my aircraft and I rapidly depart controlled flight

At the very last second my squaddy blew thru with his 163 and I hammered that tater round right into his canopy. I dont want to name any names *cough* TIP here because that would be bad form *cough* TIP.  No, "JoLLY- I'm coming thru" or anything, just me crashing into the trees :cry

No worries. It was actually rather funny and I just wanted to share it with you all. My whole squad had a good laugh and  TIP felt horrible. he apologized about 20 times.

Lesson learned: Killshooting yourself sucks the bozak. It happens though.

Oinks all!!!

Take the 20mm option and you won't rip your entire wing off when that happens (lol!!)

That rook horde gang banging was ludicrous! I myself made a fe 163 sorties as well, but I got more kills for AUGERS than I did for landing 30mm hits!

Been meaning to ask you Karaya, I'm confused about your avatar. Ive seen several people with that "Team Zeke" tag but it appears by some of the signatures that you guys aren't in the same squads. I may be completely lost here, that wouldn't be unusual.

"Team Zeke" is the group that gets to fly Zeroes for the entire Pearl Harbor event.  Ever since baby seal season closed they've been looking for something similar to do...
