50-100 bucks? Bull flop. Anybody that pays that much for a MS Prec Pro is a fool, and will soon be parted from his money. The stick is worth $20 new!

lol ya the ones that paid 50-100 a couple weeks ago would beg to differ..

PS GL finding a new one.. they're discontinued... and one of the best sticks out there and probably the most compatible with windows.. also i could be wrong but i remember them being 29.95 brand new.. They're worth more now imo..

I just hacked up 2 Prec 2 sticks.  One to see how it was built (it wouldn't work in XP at all) and the other to make my CH Pro Pedals into an USB device.  Seems it will work very well for this :)

the sticks wont work on XP? u sure about that? all of mine work fine.. just dont install the drivers from the disk thats included.. any windows past 2000 should already have the latest drivers for it installed.. my os is xp pro.. the disk is for 98 and earlier i believe..

I actually have 4 of the Prec Pro's laying around. Wife keeps finding them at the second hand store and for 2 $ brings them home.

One of these days they'll be reincarnated as something else. 4 quadrant throttle with rudder, & trim axis or something similar.

Now the Prec 2 USB does run from 30 - 50 depending on scarcity & moon phase.

I still use my first PP1 stick and it works flawlessly after 6 years of use.

That's a pretty strong statement for quality. MS did nobody a favor quitting the manufacturing. They probably weren't profitable since they lasted too long! :D

The wonderful thing about these sticks is there are no pots. Nothing to break down other than the spring of the silicon chips themselves. They have LEDs or lights and they move over a sensor. That's it.The only moving parts are the assembly to keep the stick moving against the base, or to let the throttle slide. That's it. They will last a LONG time.

That is where u are 50% wrong.  The PP2 and FFP2 have pots on all axis's.  The PP1 and FFP1 had the sensors that u speak of.  Needless to say, I had all the MS joysticks and I have never had 1 fail yet.  I just upgraded because I wanted the latest and greatest.  Right now I have both a MSFFP2 and 2 MSPP2's.  My MSFFP2 took a fall by a 1 yr old and snapped the stick off the base.  I gonna canobalize it and make a 4 axis throttle bank and have 8 more buttons, hehehehe.

Hrm... interesting. I didn't think about the Force Feedback. I think they NEED pots, if nothing else, than to force the stick around. (*just a guess, I haven't seen how they work, I avoid FF sticks)

Btw Precision Pro 1 and Force Feedback 1 don't work on WinXP.  I heard these sticks were THE best.
