For me the Fun comes from flying with Squad members and others in the community.
I have even started my g/f and our 3 boys (4, 3, and 14 months) with flying/gv'ing offline. It may take them a few more years(g/f sometimes flys under my account in EW) to really get the hang of things, but the main thing is thats its a fun activity that we all enjoy being a part of.
