I suspect that there is really no sound emanating from the stereo at all. You are simply "mentally divergent".

You're gonna get nightmares watching that movie so late at night.

I've seen that movie 4 or 5 times. One of my favorites.

I've always really enjoyed movies where the twist is hidden until the very last possible moment, and then, in the course of a brief scene or two, the fog vanishes and you're left speechless, mouth agape as the credits start to roll.

The movie you're refering to did it well. Usual Suspects may have been perfect had they not drawn it out as long as they did.

late 70s tv themes seem like an attempt to fuse symphonic & porno musics

The version that I had was done by a major symphony orchestra. The sound is actually pretty amazing, and the porno wah-wah guitar sound that you're refering to is barely audible. Still, imagining some guy sitting amidst these dozens of classically-trained musicians, wearing his Elvis glasses and wah-wahing away is pretty intense.

I friend of mine I went to school with called me a year ago, asking me to ride shotgun with her for 4 hours.  Her ex husband couldnt pick up their daughter for the weekend so she said she'd bring her.  Thing is, she didnt want to drive alone for such a long drive.

So off we go.  10 minutes into the drive she pops open her CD binder and quickly pops a CD in.  Its "Air Supply".  I eject the CD and the title is "Best Love Songs of Air Supply".  I told her I'd throw myself from this moving vehicle if she tried to make me listen to 3 hours of Air Supply or whatever other Love Song torture tunes she had in that CD Carrier  LOL  :)
